Georgia Picked to Win 2023 SEC Men’s Tennis Title

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — The Southeastern Conference announced the men’s tennis coaches’ preseason poll, Wednesday.

Georgia was picked to finish first in the league. The Bulldogs begin their 2023 season as the No. 7 team in the ITA Division I Preseason Poll. The team is coming off a dominant fall season, compiling 67 singles wins and 20 doubles victories.

Tennessee is a close second with 153 points with Kentucky at third with 146 points. South Carolina totaled 129 points for fourth, Florida is fifth with 122 points, Texas A&M is sixth with 107 points and Auburn lands at seven with 86 points.

The bottom half of the league sees Mississippi State at eight with 79 points, Alabama with 62 points for ninth, Ole Miss picked 10th with 46 points, Arkansas at 11th 42 points, LSU voted 12th with 39 points and Vanderbilt at 13th with 17 points.

The preseason poll is voted on by the men’s tennis head coach at each institution and is based on a 13-12-11-10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 vote.
