1. Dry, irritated skin
If the climate is hot and humid, your skin can still get dry and irritated. This is due to exposing your skin to the sun, pool water, and air conditioning for a long time. In summer your body is exposed to direct sunlight, which causes excessive sweating and body precipitation. The body loses its natural moisture, making it dull and dry. It also can make you internal dehydration. These precautions can prevent this problem.
Solution: You can apply sunscreen before going outdoors. Use a fragrance-free moisturizer on your skin right after you step out of the shower. Shower and shampoo immediately after getting out of the pool. Make sure to carry a moisturizer with you so that you can apply it when your skin feels dry.
2. Acne breakouts
Usually, one can experience acne at any time of the year, but commonly it comes during summer because of the rise in temperature. When the sweat on your skin mixes with bacteria and oil that clogs the pores cause breakouts of the skin. The one who has oily and acne-prone skin experience a lot more breakouts during summer. It is important to take certain precautions in order to prevent this problem.
Solution: Blot sweat from your skin with a clean towel or cloth. Wash your hands and face regularly to keep from transferring bacteria from your hands to your face and clogging your pores. Do not rub the skin or use rough towels. Make sure to wash sweaty clothes and accessories before wearing them again.
3. Body odor
Our body harbors bacteria in body folds. The folds of your skin are the perfect areas for bacteria to grow. In summer, when moisture and sweat get mixed with bacteria, it produces hydrogen sulfide and fatty acids that increase body odor.
Solution: Ware clean undergarments and socks. Shower twice a day during summer. Apply anti-fungal powder on your skin, especially on the folds. Use deodorants but those that do not contain alcohol.
4. Folliculitis
Every hair on your body grows out of an opening known as a follicle. When follicles get infected, it is the condition of folliculitis. It usually tends to be itchy and tender. One can get folliculitis anywhere on the body where there is hair. Normally it is most common on the neck, face, and chest.
Solution: Change your clothes immediately after your workout and take a shower. Stay away from hot tubs and pools that do not have controlled acid and chlorine levels. Wear lightweight, loose-fitting clothes.
5. Heat rash
The heat rash is caused due to blocked sweat glands. As the sweat cannot get out, it builds up under your skin, causing a rash and tiny, itchy bumps. When the bumps burst and release sweat, it feel a prickly sensation on their skin.
Solution: If you get one apply aloe vera gel, it will calm the itchiness and heal the bumps on your skin. Wear lightweight, loose-fitting clothes made of cotton. Try and keep the skin cool.
6. Sticky and oily skin
Summer is a particularly difficult time, especially for those with oily skin, they get even shinier. The sweat mixed with oil causes the skin to look sticky and greasy. Even applying the wrong type of moisturizer in summer can make your skin sticky as well as can invite skin problems like blackheads and acne.
Solution: Make sure to blot the sweat and oil from your face instead of wiping it as it may further irritate the skin. Do not use products that contain petroleum and mineral oil as they can clog the pores. Make use of lightweight moisturizers in summer.
