Bolton: Two vehicle crash on Blackburn Road

It is understood two vehicles have collided at the traffic lights on Blackburn Road at the junction with Crompton Way.

It is unclear whether there were any serious injuries.

The road had been subject to repair works for the last seven months and resurfacing work began on it yesterday.

Significant delays were reported on the road yesterday as a result of this.

A collision took place on the road last month involving a pedestrian.

On the occasion the incident also took place at the junction bewteen Blackburn Road and Comprton Way and the air ambulance was also sent to the scene.

Roadworks, which were expected to last seven months, began on Blackburn Road last April. 

The project is to create a right signal turn from Moss Bank Way to Blackburn Road into town.

Updates:T for Greater Manchester said the road had not been closed.

A spokesperson said: “We are aware of it and control have confirmed the road has not closed.”

The road has now been cleared.
